Here is our update of the last few weeks....
Christmas was great this year! Colin was more excited than ever for Christmas to get here. If you asked him why he was so excited, "because then it will be my birthday!" Although when it came down to it, he was excited about Christmas also.
Christmas Eve we spent it in Henderson at Russell's parents house. It was nice not having to cook. We ate dinner, the kids played around and opened a couple of gifts. Preston had spent the day with Jayson wrapping gifts. Preston was so excited for me to open the one that he had wrapped for me. It was a surpise to say the least, who else can say that they got a scrap piece of wrapping paper for Christmas. Preston thought it was the funniest thing in the world, i have to agree it made me laugh. On our way home we stoppped at Ethel M's to walk through the catus garden filled with lights.
I love the excitement on Christmas morning. The boys went downstairs to check things out, the response was "awesome" I guess they got what they wanted. We don't have any pictures, because our camera battery was dead. We spent the day playing games, putting race tracks together, and having fun. In the afternoon we met up with our Swapp Family at the movies. After the movie we came back home for more fun.
The next few days are a blur. Then New Year's Eve Russell and I both worked. Ready to go home and watch tv for the night. Instead we ended up playing Rock Band with the Swapp's until early in the morning. We all had a great time.
The next morning Russell, Preston, Colin, and I went up to Mt Charleston to go sledding. It was perfect sledding weather. Big surpise, we didn't charge the camera battery so still no pictures. ugh. We went in the snow play area this time, found a good hill. Stayed there for about an hour. Then after snack time we found the perfect hill. It wasn't icing over like the first one. We were all exhausted after a couple more hours of hiking up the hill, down is the easy part. Came home and crashed.
The kids started back to school on Monday. It was a tough morning to get Preston moving, but he was ready to go back. Colin couldn't wait till it was time for him to start. Now Colin is just counting the days till he turns 6! Time sure does fly!

Santa Train
On Saturday we went on the Santa Train, in Boulder City. Santa and Mrs Claus were on board. They stopped to talk to the kids, and take pictures. The conductors were the elves, they stayed and talked with the boys. There wasn't much of a view, but we still had a good time. (sorry Russell's head is missing in one of the photos. I have now learned you can't put tall pictures in slideshows.)
